What is Kamen Rider Sigma?

2007 finally sees the true start for Kamen Rider Sigma, an original Kamen Rider story created by yours truly that dates back to
about March/April 2001. Over the years, it has undergone many, many changes from its original concept, and after a couple false
starts, is finally on the right track (I think.) My hope is that with the series finally underway, it will be able to continue to grow and
change even from what it has become now.

Sigma is a project that I have developed both as a way to enrich and expand my own writing skills as well as share my own
concept for a Rider series with others. It should be noted though that Kamen Rider Sigma is not how I think Rider series should
be done, but rather an embodiment of ideas I'd like to see a Rider series incorporate in the future. Hey, as far as I care, the last
few Rider shows have all been great, and the current Kamen Rider Den-O looks to be continuing that trend.

It also serves as a way for me to address questions that have sparked a great deal of discussion among Rider fans in recent years:
What does it really mean to be a "Kamen Rider"? Does it just automatically equal "Champion of Justice", or is there something
more important than just holding the names and the titles? And what is up with this whole generation gap deal, anyway? My hope
is that when the story is all said and done, readers will take a look at the "Old School" and "New Generation" Riders of then and
now and realize that for all their differences, theres really a lot more going on that hasn't changed since 1971. On a more personal
level, Sigma is also a way for me to explore and hopefully understand more about my own love of Kamen Rider and Tokusatsu
in general. Hey, living in Japan has helped that out too.

Above all though, my wish is that Kamen Rider Sigma will prove to be an entertaining and thought-provoking read for fans, and
that each episode of the series will maintain a level of quality as I carefully try to juggle action, drama, horror, suspense and maybe
more than a little humor in creating something that, hopefully, will get people to put on some Kamen Rider BGMs, grab a
beverage of choice, sit back and feel as though they're watching an episode of an actual Rider TV show, except that they have to
hit the scroll button every few seconds, imagine everyone is suddenly speaking in English, and magenta-colored hair is completely
normal. All in all, I hope that it will be both a fun and exciting experience for both me and you, the readers.

But there still is that nagging question: What exactly is Kamen Rider Sigma about? Well, I think the best way to describe it is as
"A coming of age story where, instead of learning the lessons of life, the main protagonist fights bad guys and blows stuff up."
Okay, so there are a few life lessons tucked in it, but I'll try not to get overly preachy— this is Kamen Rider, after all!
