Kamen Rider Sigma

Kamen Rider Sigma is an original story exclusive to Igadevil's
Kamen Rider Page. The project first began around spring of 2001,
and over the years has grown and evolved into what it is now. At
first simply intended as an episodic "fan fiction" that linked together
the Riders of old and new, it has since grown into a much bigger,
deeper, and more unique story. One thing that hasn't changed
though, is the fact that the main protagonist is female, which brings a
very different angle to the entire story.

Ryûsaki Maya is a free-spirited young woman who is in the wrong
place at the wrong time, and becomes a target of the mysterious
secret group known as Geier. Saved by one of the original Kamen
Riders, who are now largely considered to be mere urban legends,
she soon falls deeper and deeper into a dark, dangerous world
unknown to society at large. A former student of Hongô Takeshi, she
is shocked to discover that her old professor is none other than
Kamen Rider 1, who along with Rider 2 and V3 has seemingly
reappeared in a vain effort to confront this new menace, which is led
by one of their oldest enemies. But the Triple Riders are greatly
outmatched, and when Maya becomes the latest of Geier's victims,
they have no choice but to operate on her to save her life, making her
into a cyborg like themselves. When all seems lost for our heroine, a
freak accident results in her being bombarded with Sigma Energy, a
mysterious experimental power source from the Riders' past.

Reborn as Kamen Rider Sigma, she now fights against Geier to protect Japan and the
world. But when sudden tragedy hits, will Sigma be able to cope with the loss?

Sigma gets her motorcycle the Tsunami in episode #3. Inspired (heavily) by Rider 1's
Cyclone in Kamen Rider THE FIRST, it is created with the help of a very old friend
of the Riders. Maya also finds friends in the form of Tama Junko, an old ally (and love
interest) of Kamen Rider V3; Taki Mikoto, the daughter of Taki Kazuya, a friend of
the Double Riders; and the irreverent, oddly aloof detective, Kurobe Kôhei.

As explained in the "Behind the Mask" making-off section, the design of Sigma herself
went through much development and pre-production work before I finally settled on
the version you see here. Inspired by both older and newer Riders, I've refined the
design consistently since it first appeared in 2001, although kept the overall design
essentially the same.

As the series gets rolling, this section will be updated with pictures and information
about Sigma and her abilities. For now, go check out the story for her first few
appearances!
