Combat Techniques
Kamen Rider X is sort of a turning point for the Rider Combat Techniques, because he's the first one to use a weapon on a
regular basis. Well, you
could say Riderman was really the first, but he used them based on necessity, whereas with X-Rider, it's
just part of the overall package, not unlike many of the more modern Riders who pull out swords/guns/spears/trumpets on a
regular basis. In addition, X-Rider also has the standard Rider Punch & Rider Kick, with several variations of the latter as the
series goes on. He also gains some new moves in episode #28, when Kamen Rider V3 gives him some additional surgery and
installs the Mercury Circuit, a change that also results in his new Henshin pose/phrase.This list provides photos & descriptions of
many of X-Rider's most famous attacks & weaponry as seen in
Kamen Rider X and later Rider series.
X Kick

X-Rider's trusty standby, used mostly in the first half of the series. Usually has our hero jumping into
the air, swinging around a few times on the Ridol Stick in a maneuver that can only be described as
"awesomely logic-defying", letting go and forming an "X" shape with his body, then delivering a flying
kick to the enemy. The last part is usually intercut with scenes of a golden, glowing "X" spinning
around towards the camera. It's a metaphorical thing, I guess.

A slight variation, with a bit of a twirl added into the kick, appears in episode #14.
X Punch

Sometimes, nothing beats a good 'ol right (or left) hook to the face, as Ari-Capone here is finding out.
Yeah, chuckle if you will, but that dude was pretty evil: he killed people with a dart-firing cigar,
bringing a whole new meaning to "smoking is bad for your health."
X Chop

Look, before you say anything, the monsters in the second half of Kamen Rider X are a little more...
different than the usual variety. Here's Kumo-Napoleon, a monster that is, yes, half poisonous
arachnid and half famous historical Frenchman, getting a taste of X-Rider's spin on the Rider Chop.
Ridol Hoippu (Whip)

Despite the name, it's actually a sword, and the "Whip" part comes from the sound it makes when it
slashes through the air, I suppose. The default version of Ridol, when X-Rider pulls it out of his belt
the first thing he usually does is make two diagonal slashes in the shape of an "X", ala Zorro's "Z". He
also has a habit of doing this to GOD goons, causing them to then literally disappear due to getting
quartered by the sheer awesomeness that is X-Rider.

The second-most used version after Ridol Stick, it also plays a pivotal role in the finale. Let's just say
that if you've ever thought it looks a bit like a killer barbecue skewer, you're not too far off...
X Hissatsu (Certain Kill) Kick

I think it can be argued this is one of X-Rider's most powerful moves. Why? Well, it's used in episode
#14 to defeat Apollo Geist, the unquestioned King Badass of the Kamen Rider universe. Now what
would an attack that can take down one of the toughest Rider villains ever do to a regular old Kaijin of
the week like Hydra here?

It takes his @#$%in' head off! Also sees use in episode #21.
Ridol

X-Rider's multipurpose weapon is stored in his Henshin Belt of the same name, and the belt fan spins
rapidly when it's pulled out. Featured on the handle are several buttons which, when pressed,
transform Ridol into one of the four weapons outlined below.

S - Ridol Stick
H - Ridol Hoippu (Whip)
R - Ridol Rope
L - Long Pole (a really long version of Ridol Stick)
Shinkuu Jigoku Guruma (Vacuum Hell Wheel)

One of the new attacks X-Rider gains after his power-up in #28, this move has our hero grab the
enemy, roll around on both the ground and in midair a few times, then eventually chuck them really far,
using this time to spring up and kick them back down to the ground. As you might imagine, it's a pretty
painful way to go, but hey, that's what Riders do when monsters with a resistance to the Rider Kick
start appearing– they develop nasty new techniques in the vein of the good old Rider
Kirimomi Shoot
and Rider Head Crusher! It's usually proceeded by an explosion happening behind X-Rider.

Also sees use in episode #29~30, and 32~34.
Ridol Stick

A strong metal rod and probably the most commonly used version of Ridol. In addition to being used
with the X Kick or just for beating up some GOD henchmen, there's a few special moves that can be
used with the Ridol Stick, including Ridol
Nôten Wari (slamming it on somebody's head, used in
episode #17 & 21), Ridol Barrier (spinning it around to repel a beam attack, episode #19), and Ridol
Kazaguruma Kaen Gaeshi (Windmill Flame Reversal, episode #23.)

The Long Pole version of Ridol is a jumbo-sized Ridol Stick, and X often uses it to pole vault into a
flying kick.
Miscellaneous X-Rider Combat Techniques
X Ni-Dan (Two-Step) Kick: X-Rider spends a good deal of the end of episode #9 and beginning
of episode #10 training with Tachibana to learn this updated version of the X Kick to defeat Mach
Achilles. As these things usual tend to go, the new attack does the trick, but it's not what actually does
Mach Achilles in. What does Mach Achilles in is a blast from Apollo Geist's shotgun, because Apollo
Geist just wanted to make a point of how much of a badass he is, doing in one second what X-Rider
just spent hours training to do.
Cold as ice, Geist.

Kaiten (Revolving) Kick: Used in episode #7 & 19, it's another spin on the X Kick with, well, a
little spin (or revolution) added into it.

Kuuchuu Jigoku Guruma (Sky Hell Wheel): A variation on the Vacuum Hell Wheel, this one
has X-Rider spinning around in midair a bit before delivering the kick. Used in episode #31 against
Tokage-Viking.

Rider Hammer Shoot: X-Rider lifts up an enemy and chucks them really far. During the hang
time, they apparently become molecularly unstable, and upon hitting the ground, explode. Used in
episode #21 on a Revived Cronos.

Rider Kick: Used in New Kamen Rider episode #26. It's basically another variation of the X
Kick, without all the pre-kick theatrics.

Kaiten Kick (3-Rider version): Used in the Kamen Rider Super-1 movie, a Kaiten Kick done
in synchronization with V3 & Riderman(!)

Ridol Rope

Similar to Riderman's Rope Arm, X-Rider uses it to snag escaping villains and stuff like that.
X-Rider Super Five Kick

Holding the honor of having one of the longest names yet, this little number from the 5 Riders vs. King
Dark
flick requires involvement from all 5 original Riders. Rider 1, Rider 2, Riderman and lastly V3
line up, and Rider 1 chucks X-Rider into the air. The others then give him a boost as he passes
overhead, ending with a V3-powered throw that sends him into Kômori-Franken with the force of 5
Riders. As you might guess, that results in a pretty big boom.
